Woopsie! It's not a Onesie...

And just when we thought things were going fine and dandy, there it was, an email from the mega-giant company, Gerber.  The email informed us that we were in danger of Gerber pursuing 'vigorous' legal action against our small, mommy-owned business because we phrased our top-selling products as 'Monthly Onesies.'  Unbeknownst to me, the term 'onesie' received it's trademark from Gerber over 20 years ago and they intend to fight companies tooth and nail to defend their legal rights.  I have always used the term and simply assumed that it was the generic word for a cotton, one-piece with snaps at the crotch.  Wrong!  It's their word and they don't want me using it.  At all.  The email also stated that we cannot even use a term that would be 'confusing' to the public.  I mean, really??  I am 1% flattered that Gerber took the time to send me an email, but 99% aggravated at the way the email was written.   A line from the letter:  "Accordingly, on behalf of Gerber, we demand that you immediately cease and desist from any further use, display, or publication of the ONESIES® mark in any form."  Furthermore, Gerber has requested that they will "...vigorously protect its proprietary rights by seeking legal enforcement of its trademark rights and pursuing any and all legal remedies for damages arising from trademark infringement, trademark dilution, and unfair competition."  All of this is just a tad bit intimidating for a small mommy-owned biz like ours.  Boo!

Thanks to our incredible webmaster and her sharp SEO skills, our site often appears on the first page or two of Google.  She rocks!!! Perhaps this is how they found us??  Who knows? However, we are ready to roll with the punches, make the needed changes and move on...

Here's to hoping that our MONTHLIES and infant bodysuits will soon create huge competition for Gerber!

Italia! The trip of a lifetime...

Last summer we got to experience the most beautiful wedding in the world----my sister's!  She chose the picturesque Amalfi Coast in Italy to exchange wedding vows with her husband.  Amazing to say the least.

Getting to Italy wasn't as glamorous as I would've like it to be.  Orlando to Miami.  Miami to Paris.  Missed connection to Naples, so rerouted to Milan.  Milan to Naples and then NO LUGGAGE.  I think we had been traveling for almost 17hrs at that point and we had a rehearsal dinner to get to.  We were late.  Very late.

The next day was THE wedding.  She couldn't have chosen a more beautiful place to say 'I do.'  It was absolutely breathtaking!   It was more breathtaking than any photo I have ever seen.

My sister!
My sister and I.

After the wedding, my big Italian family (20 of us) traveled to Capri, Florence, Siena and Rome.  Seriously, the best time of my life!  We ate good food, drank great wine and most of all, had the time of our lives.

Blurry pic, but here we are.

Our newest design was inspired by 'the good life.'  La bella vita.  Hope you like it.

I work out!

Hey!  You!  Have plans to work out this year?  Same here.  It's a goal and one that I really want to stick to this time.  Like many of you, I struggle to find the time and am really going to try my absolute best this year to incorporate exercise into my daily routine.  How do you find time?  What motivates you?

For me, I want to be strong and healthy.  Bottom line.  I'm not getting any younger and with the massive amounts of 'conditions' that run in my family, I need to take charge and be proactive with my plan.  I do love working out, sweating and the tremendous rush of endorphins that follow, but time....time...time....It's so hard to find it!
I love spinning class at the gym----it just gets me going, especially when the music is pumpin'!  It's amazing what a class does for the mind and body.  I have to stick with it.  If you have a similar plan, what is it?  What keeps you motivated to stick with it?

Worth the Wait

'Worth the wait' was something that I remember saying to myself on the day I delivered my son.  For numerous (and personal) reasons, he was most definitely worth the VERY long wait.  I am thankful for his existence every single day.

We've received so many emails over the past few weeks from our clients expressing to us how their baby was also 'worth the wait.  Whether it be infertility, adoption, or simply the 9 months of growing your baby, we are so thrilled that you are sharing your stories with us.  Please continue to do so.

Thank you for allowing us to share our newest items with you and for being genuinely open with us.

Babies are miracles.  We know that first-hand.

This is what it's all about...

Camera. Check.
Video camera. Check.
Phone camera. Check.
The "good" camera. Check.
You would've thought it was my first born's wedding day today.  Nope.  Not even close.  Today was my son's first Halloween parade, or 'Fall Festival' as the school likes to call it.  He's 2.  My little Ry-guy attends school M-Th mornings while I work at my other job (teaching adults English as a second language).

I was the MAMA-RAZZI this morning and my husband was definitely the PAPA-RAZZI.  Dressed up in his Mr. Potato Costume, Ryan strutted his stuff down the pavement.  Too bad he was completely overwhelmed when he saw all the mommies and daddies taking pictures and filming the parade. It was only a short parade, but so awesome to see my baby out there!  I live for things like this.  I absolutely LOVE it!

National Breast Cancer Awareness Month---GIVEAWAY

Since our inception, See Baby Grow has been committed to helping others capture every little moment in their new baby's life.  It goes soooo quickly and some days I am in utter disbelief that I have  2 yr old.  I don't know where the time has gone and why it has to go so fast.  Whenever a new product is introduced to you (our amazing fans), please know that the idea or concept was designed for the purpose of allowing you to create memories with your little one.

With our Peace, Love and Happiness tees, we did exactly that.  These tees are very simply designed, but carry a HUGE meaning in our hearts.  We all want our babies to feel peace in their minds and hearts.  We all want them to feel loved each and every day of their lives.  Happiness is the inner bliss that we all strive to reach for.

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we are giving away one of our tees!  To enter, simply write on our FB wall which tee (peace, love or happiness) you would prefer to win and WHY?  The tees are printed in pink ink and can be printed on onesies or baby/toddler tees up to size 4.  A winner will be selected at random on October 14th.

My little piece of heaven...(We're in the two's)

A little piece of my heaven...Here's my favorite little guy heading to what I call, pre-pre-pre-school.  He's two and he loves it!  I love that he loves it.  He loves saying his teacher's name and playing with his 'fwends' (friends), trains and coloring.  I love this boy!

I can't even believe he is two.  I really can't.  Truly amazing.  I can't get enough of him and his cute little nose and lips.  I make him repeat his ABC's just so I can hear him say 'W' (double goo) over and over and over.  Am I crazy to say that I love the 2's and all of the unpredictable crazy moments that go along with it?  I'm having a blast! Never a dull moment...

If you're a parent, what was your favorite stage?

Itty-bitty Preemies

A few weeks ago we were contacted by Preemie Prints, a 501(c)(3) non profit organization, offering information, support, photography, NICU gift bags, and prayer to moms and families with a premature baby.  We came up with an idea for some newborn onesies that would fit this little clientele perfectly.

Gratitude

My world!
I'm really going to make a conscious effort to blog more often.  Really, I do.  Promise.  My intention in setting up the blog with our new site was to make an attempt to build a community with our peeps.  See Baby Grow fans have been SO supportive and loyal since we launched late last summer.  You all ROCK!  I cannot thank you enough for helping to spread the word about our products and business.  Has it been a year already?  Yay!  Happy Anniversary to us!!!!!

What's new on our end?  Well, if you hadn't had a chance to check out our new site, please do!  You know how sometimes in life  you meet people and you just know right away that they have your back? That's exactly what happened when I met  Lisa, our web-designer.  Lisa helped us to create a functional site where I don't have to learn intimidating code or any 'tech-jargon' that is way above my head.  She's the bomb and has made my life a million times easier, allowing us to focus on our products and FANS---that's you!  Big props to Lisa--Mwah!!!!

I am still in awe that my son, my ray of sunshine, who happened to inspire See Baby Grow, just turned 2!  It's beyond amazing to watch him grow into this little boy who I adore to pieces.  His silly words, such as, 'baby soup' are now being replaced by the real word, 'bathing suit' and it's been bittersweet for me.  Call me crazy, but I kind of like figuring out his language and knowing exactly what he means when he says, 'my yegs' (translation: my legs) and 'lolla-cop' (translation: lollipop).  He amazes me every single day!  Feeling so much gratitude these days for all that we have.  Health. Family. Love.

Thanks again to all of you for your kindness over the past year since we began our journey.  We promise to continue to offer products that will allow you to document every little moment.  Be on the lookout for some new items to make their debut.  Can't wait to share them with you!

We'd love to hear from you!
All the best,
Shannon
