Woopsie! It's not a Onesie...

And just when we thought things were going fine and dandy, there it was, an email from the mega-giant company, Gerber.  The email informed us that we were in danger of Gerber pursuing 'vigorous' legal action against our small, mommy-owned business because we phrased our top-selling products as 'Monthly Onesies.'  Unbeknownst to me, the term 'onesie' received it's trademark from Gerber over 20 years ago and they intend to fight companies tooth and nail to defend their legal rights.  I have always used the term and simply assumed that it was the generic word for a cotton, one-piece with snaps at the crotch.  Wrong!  It's their word and they don't want me using it.  At all.  The email also stated that we cannot even use a term that would be 'confusing' to the public.  I mean, really??  I am 1% flattered that Gerber took the time to send me an email, but 99% aggravated at the way the email was written.   A line from the letter:  "Accordingly, on behalf of Gerber, we demand that you immediately cease and desist from any further use, display, or publication of the ONESIES® mark in any form."  Furthermore, Gerber has requested that they will "...vigorously protect its proprietary rights by seeking legal enforcement of its trademark rights and pursuing any and all legal remedies for damages arising from trademark infringement, trademark dilution, and unfair competition."  All of this is just a tad bit intimidating for a small mommy-owned biz like ours.  Boo!

Thanks to our incredible webmaster and her sharp SEO skills, our site often appears on the first page or two of Google.  She rocks!!! Perhaps this is how they found us??  Who knows? However, we are ready to roll with the punches, make the needed changes and move on...

Here's to hoping that our MONTHLIES and infant bodysuits will soon create huge competition for Gerber!

Italia! The trip of a lifetime...

Last summer we got to experience the most beautiful wedding in the world----my sister's!  She chose the picturesque Amalfi Coast in Italy to exchange wedding vows with her husband.  Amazing to say the least.

Getting to Italy wasn't as glamorous as I would've like it to be.  Orlando to Miami.  Miami to Paris.  Missed connection to Naples, so rerouted to Milan.  Milan to Naples and then NO LUGGAGE.  I think we had been traveling for almost 17hrs at that point and we had a rehearsal dinner to get to.  We were late.  Very late.

The next day was THE wedding.  She couldn't have chosen a more beautiful place to say 'I do.'  It was absolutely breathtaking!   It was more breathtaking than any photo I have ever seen.

My sister!
My sister and I.

After the wedding, my big Italian family (20 of us) traveled to Capri, Florence, Siena and Rome.  Seriously, the best time of my life!  We ate good food, drank great wine and most of all, had the time of our lives.

Blurry pic, but here we are.

Our newest design was inspired by 'the good life.'  La bella vita.  Hope you like it.

I work out!

Hey!  You!  Have plans to work out this year?  Same here.  It's a goal and one that I really want to stick to this time.  Like many of you, I struggle to find the time and am really going to try my absolute best this year to incorporate exercise into my daily routine.  How do you find time?  What motivates you?

For me, I want to be strong and healthy.  Bottom line.  I'm not getting any younger and with the massive amounts of 'conditions' that run in my family, I need to take charge and be proactive with my plan.  I do love working out, sweating and the tremendous rush of endorphins that follow, but time....time...time....It's so hard to find it!
I love spinning class at the gym----it just gets me going, especially when the music is pumpin'!  It's amazing what a class does for the mind and body.  I have to stick with it.  If you have a similar plan, what is it?  What keeps you motivated to stick with it?
